Everyone Should Do That

I have always maintained that EVERYONE should have to spend a day in a classroom (all day) in order to see the importance of raising good children. I think, sometimes, as parents and humans we get so wrapped up in our own little world and because we're tired and overworked and overstressed, make the easy decisions. In the classroom, by 5th grade, I see the results of making easy decisions (i.e. I'll just let *fill in the blank* get away with that just this once so that I can have some peace and quiet). Well, today I realized that everyone should have to spend a day in a pre-school. What an eye opening experience that was for me! Talk about truly understanding the importance of raising good children. =) While I had a great time helping out and contributing to a great pre-school (I did read aloud and helped out with snack), I am walking away with a lot more than just a great night's sleep tonight. I am walking away with a renewed sense of respect and a desire to raise a respectful, thankful, and appreciate child!
