Forty-three Weeks Old

It is no mystery that I like things done a certain way. I am very particular with organization, cleanliness, and even what outfits Connor gets put in. As a teacher, I am flexible and I can totally throw my plans out the window and say, "Alright...this isn't working! Let's do something else." But I can't help it. I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to certain things. Tonight, I am taking deep breaths...in...out...in...out and letting go of the fact that neither of these photos are up to my standards. I have a beautiful baby boy, who is struggling this week. He's sick and tired and has pink eye and doesn't want to be set down and doesn't want to be held and wants his mama, but hates his mama and wants his dad, but hates his dad. His eyes are puffy and red and sore. His nose is running. He's tired, but doesn't want to go to sleep. He's hungry, but doesn't want food. He's in the photos, but doesn't want to be.

So, there you have it! This is why he is not looking at the camera in either photo and looking like he might be ready to scream in the other. And I'm okay with it.

Don't I sound like it?!? Hehe!

I am just so impressed that you have been doing photos of your Little Man EVERY week for over 40 weeks! That's impressive!.... D

I love that you say he is "43 weeks old" versus the month! Ha!

Don't worry...I am not one of those crazy moms who references his week age in public. "So how old is your son?" someone asks. "43 Weeks!" hehe.

I only do that on here. I take a photo each week in the same spot so that we have a record of his growth for his first year. In public, however, I say how many months he is. :-)

I actually liked the first photo and enjoyed the difference before reading on to see your take on it. I think it is a great shot because he is up and standing. Isn't that what they want to be doing all the time now? I am sad that he is sick and that you had a hard week. Ellie had a rough night the other night, too. Healthy vibes coming your way.
