Fourteen Months Old

New Activities:
  • Greets the dogs in the morning by waving to them
  • Tries to stand up in the grocery cart
  • Reaches hands up to signal you to pick him up
  • Signs "All Done"
  • Signs "More"
  • When you say "no," he gets down on the floor and fake cries. With his head all the way on the ground, he peeks up to see if you're buying it.
  • Finally has mastered the Sippy Cup - Hello Transition from Bottle!
  • Figured out how to crawl out the doggy door
  • Finds shoes around the house and tries to put them on his feet (see photo above)
New Words:
  • Lots of mimicking, but no new words that he uses on his own without prompting.

  • All of a sudden this month, Connor decided to start having weird sleeping. He was waking up in the middle of the night OR waking up about an hour after we put him to bed. The second week in August, we adjusted his bedtime by an hour (obviously later) and things got better. He sleeps through the night if we put him to bed around 6:45 or 7pm. But if we put him down at 6:30, he'll wake up.

  • Connor tried sushi this month! He had edamame, miso soup, ginger (he love, love, loved ginger), and some of the rice and sauces from our rolls. He spit the fish out. Connor tried some of Mama and Daddy's homemade pizza, macaroni and cheese, hamburger helper, potato, salad, and pasta. We're at the point now, where whenever we make dinner, we take a few bites of it and put it in his own bowl. He also learned how to drink from a straw this month and FINALLY mastered his sippy cup (hopefully we can begin the transition from bottle to cup soon).
