I've mentioned before that Connor is so ready to potty train. We, however, have so not been ready. Everyone we have spoken to has told us to hold off on potty training until the babies arrive because they revert a little bit (or sometimes a lot) and there's no sense in investing SOO much time into something only to have him go back to his old ways. So, we've been super nonchalant about the whole thing. We talk about going potty. We point out when he's going potty (like when he's standing in the bath). We point out when he's going "poo poo" and always celebrate him for it (never ever do we say, "Yuck!" or "Stinky" or anything else that makes him feel like he shouldn't go).
I've only put him on the potty once - when I saw him going in the tub and thought he might be ready to see the little potty. And that was the extent of it! So last night when he asked for it and then actually WENT, I was soooo excited for him!!! It seems only fitting that he accomplished this HUGE milestone the night before his second birthday (that's right! You heard me...today, as we speak (or as I write...) my little handsome boy is officially a TWO YEAR OLD!!! How did that happen?
Now, who wants to take our little guy for a week to their house and fully potty train him? You can send him back when he's all done! =)
