Big Boy Room Complete!!

This is probably the room I am most proud of and I think it's because it's the room we took the biggest risk on. We took a risk on the super bright green and then took a risk by painting the wainscoting a deep brown.

We first had to strip the room, paint the green walls, install the wainscoting on the opposite wall (when we moved in there was wainscoting on the wall to the right, but we installed it on the opposite wall and installed trim to give it a finished look), paint the floorboards white, paint the wainscoting a dark brown, put up curtains, put up a valance, put up decorations, build the crib, paint the dresser, install closet clothing rods, and make up the bed with monkey decorations. It took us over two months to get it done, but we had lots of help from my brother (painting), Mr. Howard's mom (picking out and getting curtains and bedding), and my mom (hemming the curtains).

Finally, as I sit here typing this, Connor is sound asleep in his new big boy room!!

View from the hallway:
These are the same letters we used for his nursery room. We just painted them to match his new colors.
Many people suggested to us that since Connor was climbing out of his crib, that he was ready to be in a big boy bed. I'll be honest and just admit that I'm selfish. I am not ready for him to be in a bed he'll be able to climb out of. With freedom, it means he could come into our room on his own...or, GASP, the kitchen where he could seriously injure himself.
The Wall Shelf is from our old guest room and we need to add more photos to it; for now it houses mostly photos of friends and family and a few of Connor.
Now, the question is....WHO NOTICED THE BABIES?!?

What do you think?

The brown wainscoting looks SUPER sharp and goes with the theme perfectly. As for the crib, let him stay with it as long as he is willing!!!

I was wondering where you found the bedding/window treatments and anything else with the jungle animals? I love this idea for a toddler room!

We found it at Bed Bath and Beyond, but I've seen it at Amazon. It's called the Kids Line Jungle 1, 2, 3 if you want to google it. Here's the link: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=124685.
