Hairbow Holders, Headbands, and Capes

A couple of the things on my to-do list I mentioned in THIS post were to do a hairbow holder for Izzy. We put this one together in about 5 minutes. Since it was going on Izzy's side of the wall, we did the ribbon in turquoise to coordinate with the room. I got the idea from pinterest HERE. We didn't want to paint the frame because Aiden and Izzy's cribs are cherry wood. We don't have that many hairbows that aren't on headbands yet, but I'm sure this will be filled up before we know it!
Here's Izzy's side of the room:
Another thing I wanted to do was make Bella some headbands. My mom taught me how to sew (I knew how to hand-stitch things, but I didn't know how to use a sewing machine) and I made the one below completely on my own. I used THIS idea from pinterest by Craftiness is not Optional. I love the way it came out. I did a second one, but I haven't had a chance to put it on Izzy yet and have her model it.
The last project I wanted to do was make Connor a cape. I actually had envisioned making all the kids capes, but since the first one took me several hours and I didn't have several more hours to spend, I had to just make one for Connor. Mr. Howard came up with the concept of making him a Bolt cape, as he loves the movie Bolt. I hand stitched the lightning bolt to the emblem and then hand-stitched the emblem to the cape. I think it turned out cool, except that we made the emblem a bit too big for the size of the cape. Oh well. He loved it!
