Mr. Howard Graduates!

My darling husband worked incredibly hard on his degree, graduating with a 4.0 from Chapman University with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership. He spent hours studying, doing projects, writing papers, taking tests, and going to class - amid welcoming a new baby, changing diapers, helping with dinner, grieving the loss of a child, welcoming twins, being a loving husband, and working a more than full-time job. I have no words to describe how proud I am of him.
Before heading out to graduation:

He used to tell me when we were first dating that he was not "book smart" and I always disagreed that he needed that to pass. Success doesn't take being innately book smart. I have a lot of students who are smart, but fail my class because they don't want to work hard. Success takes: studying, doing papers, reading, asking a lot of questions, and working HARD. And if there is anyone who is a hard worker, it is certainly my husband. Once, he realized that he could be successful AND he could take a class that interested him (instead of having to take statistics, Spanish, Writing, and all the other general ed requirements), he started getting A's. I, honestly, saw the biggest turn around in his academics when he started at Chapman. They worked with him in getting him the classes he needed and wanted; they called him personally to talk to him about what barriers were in his way in terms of classes; they had a schedule of classes that were all at night and could easily fit into his work schedule; he had an academic counselor that was on a name-to-name basis with him...I could go on and on. If that doesn't speak volumes to finding a college that is the RIGHT fit, I don't know what does.
This past weekend we celebrated his success by watching him walk across the stage in a cap and gown! Huge, huge, huge deal!!!
The lighting was horrible, but here was the auditorium before graduation:

How to keep an almost three-year-old distracted during Graduation Ceremony: Bring Doritos and let him eat them on the floor:
And then he'd clap for Daddy every once in a while:
Aiden fell sound asleep during the ceremony:
The professional ones they took behind the stage:
 Is he handsome or what?
This was right before it ended:
These were taken afterwards outside in front of the Graduation Ceremony:
It's a miracle we all got in one photo. Too bad Aiden isn't looking and I look like I'm 300 pounds.

Afterwards we came back to our house and had a bbq. My talented neighbor made the cake for him. Isn't it AMAZING!??? It came out soo much better than I envisioned it!
Her husband made the tassle. I love everything about the cake!
 Love, love, love it!
 The Graduate with his cake!
 The Graduate with his Diploma:
 I love this man:
They took professional photos at the graduation, but since we won't get those for two weeks, these will have to do:
 Yay!!!!

It was SOO nice of our friends and family to come out and celebrate a HUGE day for Mr. Howard. I couldn't be more proud of him!!!
