Sleep

I have been meaning to share my ABSOLUTELY amazing news, but I was worried that if I shared it, I'd somehow jinx it.

Maybe 5 weeks ago, the babies slept through the night for the first time (really...ever). It was super exciting. We prayed that it would continue. Well, it did. And so far almost every night (give or take one or two nights in 5 weeks) they have completely slept through the night. Hallelujah!!!

For those of you who read my blog a long time ago, you know our struggles with Connor's sleep habits. He did not consistently sleep through the night until he was 2. We did everything. We did the Moms on Call method. We did the Babywise Method. We tried the Super Nanny method. None of it worked. He'd wake up every night once and scream and scream. And then when he turned two, we never went back. He has slept through the night every night for a year (minus maybe 1 night).
So, imagine my surprise when I had TWINS who started sleeping through the night at 8.5 months old! This is a major improvement. I swear we haven't done anything differently than we did with Connor, and I know each child has their own personality. But how we lucked out with TWO sleepers, I don't know.

Aiden occasionally wakes up around 10pm and I can hear him in his room "talking" or whining. But he never cries. He plays (probably with his blanket) and chats to his sleeping sister across the room and then he goes to sleep. EVERY once in a while I'll hear both Aiden and Izzy "talking" to each other, but again, they do it for about 15 minutes, self-soothe, and then we don't hear from them until the morning.

I can't tell you what it feels like to go to bed at 10pm and wake up at 5:30am uninterrupted!!!! I feel like I'm catching up on 4 years worth of sleep!
Funny story about tonight. I was putting Connor to sleep and this is the conversation we had. Connor: "Connor go to bed?"
Me: "Yes."
Connor: "Mama go to bed in Mama's bed?"
Me: "Yes."
Connor: "Daddy sleep in you bed?"
Me: "Yes. Daddy sleeps in our bed."
Connor: "Why not Connor sleep in Mama bed?"
Me: "Uhhhhhh..." Because Daddy was there first, buddy.

Cute conversation :) What a blessing that they both sleep well, I know how hard it is to have a difficult sleeper. My last is a good sleeper and it is sooooo nice!

Congrats on the sleep! Out 6 month old twins just decided in the last 2 weeks to sleep through the night! Seven hours of consecutive sleep can make you feel like a new woman!
