Walk a Little Slower, Daddy

I'm following in your footsteps
and I don't want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they're hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.
Someday when I'm all grown up,
You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you.

Oh my goodness. The twins are standing up a storm. They prefer now to be on their knees
 Or Standing.
I swear that of the 8 hours they are awake, they're probably standing for 6 of them. It seems like just last week I was watching Connor take his first steps. Whoa.

They might take one or two breaks...
 But then it's right back to standing!
 Some of my favorite pictures are the ones that my blog readers probably don't love. But I just adore these ones below because it shows the reality. This is what I'll miss: looking down at my sweet baby.
 They are just so sweet:
 They stand at the coffee table.
 They even stand while holding my knees.
(This is actually their favorite. If I'm sitting on the ground, they both crawl to me and hold my knees!)
 They hold onto their toy shopping carts.
 And even the new snack table all the kids got for their birthday from the Katz's.
 This just makes my heart melt. Oh I just adore baby feet.
The photo below is at their eye level. They saw Connor was eating lunch and wanted some.
 You can't tell, but Connor fed them each a bite, then would take his own bite, then feed them each a bite, and then one for him. It was beyond sweet.

A few days ago, Aiden started crying. Connor ran over, held him in his arms and said, "Awww. It's okay, sweetheart." I guess something is rubbing off on him. When Isabella cries, he instantly says, "Sorry Mama!" which usually means he did something to cause the crying. Oh yes. Welcome to the life of my three-year-old. We have entered the "Bossy Pants" phase of life. Ooh and the "Tattle-telling" phase. "Mama, Aiden's standing...Mama, Izzzbella's touching this!...Aiden, No! No touching my food....Izzbella, stop that!" Usually his bossiness lands one baby into a crying fit because he's taken something away from them or caused them to fall. While we're talking about the phases Connor is in, we are also in the "You're not my friend!" phase. Two nights ago when I was putting him in timeout, he said, "Mama, you not lovin' me and you NOT my friend!" It takes everything in me not to chuckle when he says it because it's just the most sweet, innocent thing. I always tell him, "You're right. I'm not your friend. I'm your mama and that's way more special!"
Above: he was playing make believe train with Daddy.

It is impossible to not feel so unbelievably blessed in the mundane moments with my kids. This has been the absolute best summer of my life and I am unbelievably sad that I had to go back to work today. What do you people do who don't have two month vacations?!? I can't imagine.

The "sorry mommy" comment is funny. When that happens in our house i hear a baby crying and Cali say "I'm sorry". When i inquire about what happened she avoids the details and says " i already told him/her i was sorry". Love toddlers!

Oh my goodness they are too cute, love how you dress them alike! It definitely gets hard and busier as they start standing and walking :)
