On Friday evening, I chaperoned our Middle Schoolers' Sweetheart Dance, while Mr. Howard went and picked up the kids from their Valentine's Day Party. They had so much fun!
And then, for our adults only Valentine's Day, my sister came over to watch the kids for us and we went to Cheesecake Factory. We had a yummy spicy tempura roll and delicious drinks. We were just LOVING being able to talk and catch up because the last few weeks have been so crazy. But as I was sitting there, it became clearer and clearer that something wasn't right. I don't know how to explain it except to say that my skin felt like it was crawling and I was about to have a panic attack. I told Mr. Howard I wasn't feeling well and practically ran to my car. I immediately started driving to Kaiser because I was fairly certain I was having an allergic reaction to something I ate. I kept checking my tongue and touching my face because it felt so tingly.
Thankfully Mr. Howard talked me down from the ledge (after he paid our bill and got in his own car) and told me to come home and rest. By the time I got home, it had been about 30 minutes since I had eaten the roll and I felt so much better. In fact, by the time Mr. Howard made it home, I was completely fine. I have no idea what it was that made me have that reaction. To my knowledge, I am not allergic to any of the foods contained in the roll. But I certainly won't be ordering it again. Yikes.
I felt so awful for wrecking our date. We had planned on seeing a movie afterwards, but obviously didn't get to. My sister, so very graciously, offered to come back over a different night so that we could have another do-over date. So sweet!
