Breaking Ground on our Very Own Home

Our house has been coming along without any hiccups. Such a relief. They opened our escrow account a few days ago and finally sent over our signed purchase agreement. So, it's finally an "officially" official Howard Home (we need two officials in there after all the other times it was official, but not really). They also broke ground two Thursdays ago. The good news is that it is the RIGHT FLOORPLAN!!! Woo-hoo!
January 24, 2013 - Breaking Ground
January 25, 2013 -  They dug the footers

January 28, 2013 - Framed to pour footers
February 1, 2013 - Rough Plumbing, Heating, and Electrical (see all the black wiring and pipes coming up on the sides and middle of the house?). To Mr. Howard's left and the right side of this picture), you can't see it but they dug up for our sewer and water line. We have a huge hole in front and then piles of dirt next to it covered by tarps.
Here is a better picture of the tarps:
They are getting ready to pour foundation next. Maybe Monday?
Everyone said this would be the case, but boy does it look smaller than it should be. It's so funny how a house that is 3300 square feet can look smaller than the one bedroom apartment we lived in in Southern California. I really just can't wait for them to get moving. I am sure everyone is eager, but since I have other houses to compare it to (see that house in the picture above that has all the windows in? That house was staked the same time our other lot was staked.) and it's hard not to think, "right about now we SHOULD be installing windows, etc."

It will look tiny until they out the frame up and then it will look huge again!

Ohhhhhhh FUN!!! I remember how exciting this was! I built a house in 2008, and it was so exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys go through it. It will probably make me want to do it again, though. Haha! Congrats!
