After going to more stores than I care to admit, in order to find a particular necklace I was having no luck finding, I just decided to make one myself! I found it online at a bunch of places, but I wanted the necklace for the headshot I was doing the following day and didn't have time to order it.
I'm not going to recreate how to make it because Jessica Grace Designs does a perfect job of taking you step by step in how to make it. The only thing I would suggest altering is doing a spray paint instead of doing it with a brush. It was a little hard to get a perfectly smooth texture on my crystals with a paint brush. At times I would brush on the paint, only to pull a little of the paint off in another area. My beads aren't perfect, but they worked perfectly for my photoshoot!
I also didn't do two layers, not because I didn't want to, but because my hobby lobby only had 8 of the In Bloom crystal beads. The cost of all the supplies below (plus I had to buy a 3 pack of paint brushes, because it was all I could find) was $13. If I had been at home (we're living with my parents right now while our house is being built) I would have had some of those supplies already (like the paint brushes and ribbon) and I wouldn't have had to buy them. So it probably would have been closer to $8.
What do you think? Let me know if I've inspired you to check out her blog and do your own necklace!
