Dating my Husband & My Sister is Famous!

We have been really lucky to get in some quality husband/wife time the past few weeks. On Sunday, June 1st we put the kids to bed early (Connor now stays up until 8pm - so we put him down at about 7:30) and we made brownies and rented a movie. We don't need a whole lot to make us happy! We watched the romance Safe Haven. It was a little cheesy, but there was a fun twist at the end that was unique and I totally was not expecting. I love when movies give me a little surprise at the end.

Then, I finally cashed in my Mother's Day Present (which was a movie and meal date). We had some trouble trying to figure out how to make it work, but finally, we came up with the plan for Mr. Howard to switch his normal day off (a day when the kids don't go to preschool) to a day when the kids were in preschool. This gave us a whole day together.

We got up and left the house early and spent some time at Starbucks first thing in the morning. Hubby had to be on a conference call for work, so we hung out and drank our coffee/ate our breakfast sandwiches while he called in.
After that we headed over to our movie Hangover 3. I liked it better than the second one. It wasn't Oscar worthy, but it was a light-hearted comedy!
After that, we headed over to Olive Garden for lunch. Oh heaven. Delicious breadsticks, pasta, stuffed mushrooms. I was in Heaven.

We then spent the rest of the day running around town looking for things for Connor's 4th birthday party. We literally spent about 4 hours shopping and got a lot crossed off our list (I still have a few things I need to order online!). At the end of the day, we went looking for a magazine that we believed had a photo my sister took in it! We had to go to a few stores, but finally found one that had it!

Sacramento Magazine's Our Wedding Summer/Fall 2013
The image of the beautiful bride and groom holding the Thank You sign, below, is one she took. It was SUCH a bittersweet moment for me. My sister explains it better than I could HERE on her website. It's a lesson to those of you who are photographers to always watermark your photos. I'm going to choose to see it as a positive, though, and shout from the rooftops that one of my sister's pictures is FEATURED in a magazine article on The Lions Gate Hotel! If someone is going to publish a photo and not give her credit, than I am going to make sure that SHE GIVES HERSELF credit! Katie Taylor Photography is absolutely amazing. Isn't her photo the best one on the page? Anyone needing a photographer in the Sacramento area, see her webpage! She has prices listed, but she's so flexible. She'll work with you to create the perfect package that you can be comfortable with! I always get nervous recommending family to my friends because you don't want them to be unhappy and then be in an awkward position with your friends, but you WON'T be unhappy!
Alright, enough dilly-dallying for me. I need to finish organizing the kids' clothes! Happy Tuesday!

Even though Mr. Howard picked it out, I really did enjoy it! I laughed and laughed. It was a good, fun mindless ("we don't have our three children") date!
