Happy Birthday, my precious babies

I asked the question on instagram the other day if you can still call your kids "babies" when one is almost four and everyone agreed that you can, so I am sticking with it.

Oh my babies. I swear I was just getting out of bed yesterday to the feeling of both of my waters breaking. Birth Story Here. And whoa. I must really, really, really love you - because look at what I looked like a WEEK (a whole week, folks - do you understand what that means? It means I actually got BIGGER) before giving birth to you:

Aiden in the NICU with Mama:
Aiden in the NICU with Daddy:
Isabella in the NICU with Daddy:
Isabella in the NICU with Mama:
And now you are two. Two years old. Whoa. I may have to say that a few times in my head to truly grasp that or I may just wait until your next birthday to fully comprehend this one. How can you be two?
I heard a quote once and it has stuck with me. “Making the decision to have a child - It's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”- Elizabeth Stone. And seriously. That's exactly what you are. You are my heart walking around outside my body. There are no words to describe how I feel about you, so I'm just going to say the very thing I say to you every single night when you're all snuggly in your bed, the last thing you hear before you go to sleep: "I love you to the moon and back." and back and back and back.

I know you know this, but it is insane. I don't even understand how the days seem so long. There are so many times I don't even know how I'm going to make it to nap time. But then, somehow, it's been two WHOLE years. Whoa!
