Midweek Randoms & Advice Needed

I'm linking up with In This Wonderful Life for her Midweek Randoms!

We've been making little tweaks here and there to the house (can you believe we've lived here for almost two months?). It's taking much longer than I thought it would to get it all decorated, but I don't know what I expected. We debated and debated about doing a gallery wall on our stair wall, but when we found this clock - we knew it was perfect for us! Harley thought so too!
We also knew we wanted to do a full-length mirror on the wall in our master bedroom. We searched for the perfect one and finally found one we both loved.

Here's a before:
And an after:
We still need a new comforter (the comforter we currently have on the bed is a king, but not a California king and it's too small!) and a headboard and then this room will be set.

We also started on our playroom. We are NOWHERE NEAR being done, but we're making progress. I'm trying not to get overwhelmed and just do what I can when I can. With three small littles that means that some days I get a lot done and other days I get nothing done. You know how it is. Here's a quasi before (we actually bought and assembled these white bookshelves right before I took this picture - so it isn't a complete "before" photo):
This space is still under construction because we haven't picked out playroom colors. Do you want to cast your votes? We are debating between a yellow and grey theme or red and grey. So the paint  will stay grey, but then we'd add curtains in yellow or red, cushions for the cubbie seating we've got alongside two of the walls, and baskets in the cubbies in the color theme. I love the idea of yellow and gray. I think it will look so cute (I have seriously been drooling all over the cute yellow and gray playrooms I've seen), but our kitchen set is red. And there's nothing I can do to change the color of that. Help! Do you think it will look silly to have a yellow and gray playroom with a red kitchen?!? Here's the kitchen color:
Here's the little reading nook we made in the corner (until we pick our colors we're just using the little carpet squares we bought from our old house - we'll replace these with yellow or red depending on what we choose).
We started working on our entryway hallway. We bought these Threshold Avington 4-cube shelves (there's three of them side-by-side) from target and found these wicker baskets to put in them. I've been stacking all the picture frames I want to put on this wall to get it all organized and ready to go so I could hang them. But I'm kind of liking the stacked look (obviously not stacked like this). I still think I'm leaning towards a gallery wall, though. This is hilarious. I actually had such an easier time making decisions when we were building the house than I am about decorating it.
In other non-house news, we've made little paper countdowns for birthdays (to save myself from answering Connor's "Is today my birthday?!?" questions everyday 100 times a day). Ha! Everyday we take a paper chain down (the twins alternate taking one down every other day. Probably next year I'll make them their own countdowns - but since they don't really get it, I didn't think they'd mind sharing one this year). We are celebrating Aiden and Isabella's birthday this Saturday with just my family. Can you believe they are going to be two-years-old? WHAT?!?
Here's Connor's countdown. We are doing his birthday party on July 14th!! He'll be four. Ridiculous. I swear I just had him five minutes ago.
 Isabella with her countdown:
And my last random thing of the day. When I was uploading my pictures from my camera, I found this gem below. Look who took his very first selfie?!? Seriously. I am dying!!!
Hope everyone has a great week!

Uh, also DYING over the selfie!!
I can't believe they will be 2 & 4 years old!!

And I love the yellow and gray! Gosh, no, the red table won't look out of place. you are going to have a million multi colored toys and things in there. It can just be one of those.
LOVE yellow and gray! Seems more calming, yet still fun, too.
Do it!!

Is there a logic to putting some books on the shelves and some closer to the ground? Do they choose the books on the shelves more, or is one child more likely to choose from the ground, so his/her books are there? Are the bedtime books on the highest shelf so you can grab them more easily?

Yay! Yellow was my favorite choice too! =) SERIOUSLY DYING!!! Is it not so funny? I literally laughed and laughed when I saw it pop up in my photo album!!!

Good question! Connor can reach the top shelves, but the babies cannot yet. So we wanted books that could be at their level. We will more than likely do little crate shelves when the babies are old enough to reach them with the rest of the books. But we'll probably leave them on the ground for another year until the babies can reach all the books. :-)

Great idea. I have an old baby photo my mom took of me pulling my bookcase down and laughing.
