Every year I get a beautiful bouquet of red roses or an edible arrangement sent to work on Valentine's Day and every year it makes me so happy. This year, however, I wasn't going to be at work. Instead I was going to be leading a teacher training for the 7th Grade English teachers in my district. Beforehand, Mr. Howard had mentioned that I wasn't going to be at work and, I could tell, was trying to fish for whether or not it'd be a good idea to send something the Thursday before. I am never one to pass up roses, but honestly, it just didn't make sense because Thursday we were going on break for an entire week. It was such a sweet, thoughtful thing that he was even thinking about it - and, really, that's the point of it all: making me feel like a priority - making me feel loved. So, I wasn't expecting anything on Valentine's Day.
Imagine my surprise, however, when I came down to make breakfast Friday morning and saw this handmade card, below, sitting on the table. He designed a card with our wedding photos on it and wrote the sweetest message ever. I'm pretty sure he had me at "To the Woman of my Dreams." I am so blessed. He also wrote the sweetest thing about me on Facebook. I'm pretty sure our friends are sick of us! Ha! Even after 13 years together, he still catches me off guard with his devoted love and purposeful romance and I still wake up wanting to fall in love all over again with him. We are certainly some of the lucky ones.
The kids made these Valentine's below. You can download your own printable HERE. I created my own version so that I could make them bigger (I had the full-sized cars) and I wanted the kids' names on them, so mine are just slightly different than the ones by C.R.A.F.T. Valentine's Day is a million times more fun through the eyes of a four-year-old and two two-year-olds! This is our last year of one card for all three kids, as Connor will be in kindergarten next year!
Hubby had to work late, so I made and fed the kids dinner and got them in the tub. Mr. Howard wanted me to try to keep the kids up because he said he had a surprise for them - so I let them play in the bath for longer than normal. He came home with special cups and Mickey/Minnie stuffed toys for them and they were SO excited when they got out of the bath. Here was Daddy and all his Valentine's (nova snuck into Connor's photo):
