DC 4 and that time I missed my husband

On our last day in DC we went to the Newsium in Arlington and did a guided tour (amazingly it ended up that the four of us were the only ones on the tour - so we got a private tour!). We really could have spent an entire day here, and I'll definitely need to go back and do it again, but at least the tour gave us a highlights reel. If you haven't been - GO! It's amazing! If I could take my students, I'd go in a heartbeat!

We got to see a section of the Berlin Wall (the largest section in the US).

And the view of the United States Capitol, which is under construction:
This was fascinating to me. This is a map of the world and it shows which places have free press. They update it when conditions change in a country.
There was so much more to see! They even had a 3,200-year-old cuneiform tablet!! My English teacher and World History teacher heart was going wild with everything I wanted to see.

After Newsium, we rushed off to Brunch at Tabard Inn. Oh my goodness! The sugar donut appetizers were delicious. So much so that I couldn't even wait to try a bite before taking a picture. Haha!
After brunch, we went home and the girls went for manicures and pedicures, while I went for a run! I came back from my run and took this picture for my husband. I was missing him!
Finally, it was time to say our goodbyes and head to the airport!
And, just like that, I was in the air and witnessed the most amazing sunset above the clouds, and was back down on the ground again.
And home to my scrumptious, snuggly, and positively-unimpressed-with-me babies
